Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy
developed by Francine Shapiro to resolve the development of
PSTD(Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) caused by extremely distressing events,
such as rape or military combat. This is one of the best treatments for PSTD
which are recognized by the American Psychological Association.

EMDR is based on a theoretical information processing model which assumes
that symptoms arise when events are insufficiently processed, and that can
be removed when the memory is fully processed. This is an integrative
therapy which synthesizes elements of many traditional psychological
orientations, such as psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, experiential,
physiological, and interpersonal therapies.

A recent review rated EMDR as an effective method for the treatment of PTSD,
and the International Society of Stress Studies practice guidelines
categorized EMDR as an evidence-based level A treatment for PTSD in adults.
A number of international guidelines include EMDR as a recommended treatment
for trauma.

However, this therapy was being conducted manually by doctors, so we have
launched this app with intuitive UI and convenient features in order to make
it easier for them to perform this therapy for their patients.
