From fine arts to seasonal landscapes, for over 40 years Sadao Hibi has been photographing the beauty of Japan in architecture and cultural artifacts that include National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties.

Over 90 collections of his photos have been published to date, and he continues to avidly pursue photography. The Sadao Hibi Photo Scrolls series are thematic compilations of carefully selected photos from the tens of thousands in his collection.
The first piece in the series focuses on the beauty of Japanese Colors and Shapes. In total, 200 photographs have been collected in 12 categories: Windows, Lattices, Sliding paper door, Decorations, Faith, Curtains/Bamboo blinds, Metal fittings, Split shop curtain, Signs, Wall, Fence, and Roofs. Please enjoy these beautiful photos of Japan's rich designs developed out of a long history and tradition.

Future themes planned for this series include Japanese Castles, Japanese Roads, Japanese Gardens, Japanese Patterns, Flowers of Kyoto, Cherry Blossoms, and Colors of the Forest.
