The app was developed following feedback from clients of all ages, and research into what patients would like from an app.

This app is not intended as a substitute for a medical consultation. Eczema should be treated on an individual basis - this app is designed to filter out the confusion and gives the basics that can be applied to everyone. Unfortunately, there is no cure for eczema, and the cause is unknown. There is a great deal of information that can be found on the internet, but not all is provided by a qualified professional.

This app enables the most important facts to be available in one place, alongside a personalised diary, without the need for internet connection once downloaded.

There is a FAQ section, highlighting the main questions that get asked in clinic, and a small section on 'What to ask your doctor'.

The app gives several screens of information about the condition, and is broken down into treatment sections for ease.

There is an interactive diary that would be specific to the individual using the app.Research showed that patients wanted an easy-to-use tool that could be with them at all times. This can be used to record flare ups including the severity of the flare up, the areas affected and possible triggers. The whole diary is fully searchable so that patterns can be spotted. The diary can also be e-mailed so it that it can easily be shared with others including medical professionals. It is sent as both a plain text file and a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file for easy import into other tools such as Excel.

The app also provides a diagnosis tool to indicate if you do have eczema and gives reasons for the diagnosis.

The app will be updated based on further feedback and all updates will be free.
