Eco Explorer is a virtual global field trip designed to positively engage 8-14 year olds in the climate change challenges facing our world. The application uses an interactive virtual globe to travel around the planet to watch videos, partake in activities, play games, and view World Bank data in relationship to the location on the planet visited. Climate change is daunting, especially for children in the target age range. By presenting inspirational videos and activities depicting positive action, young people are invited to participate positively in mitigating climate change. Data is a powerful tool, especially when presented in an inspiring and engaging manner.

This application can be used individually or in a classroom. Each player can select games and complete activities to earn Eco-Coins which can then be used to travel to the next destination. Most importantly, this application will provide insight on how to have an impact every day through small actions and greater awareness.
