Application Description
dot11tdwr is a handy Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) pocket reference for wireless networking professionals and enthusiasts. Look up TDWR locations in the United States. See information such as latitude, longitude, terrain elevation and antenna height above terrain for each radar site as well as operating frequency.
Tap radar site name to plot radar location on a map in Maps app and, for iOS 6, in a Safari browser window. Use typical features provided by external map program to see the radar site in satellite map or find distance and direction between radar site and a desired address.
Tap latitude or longitude to toggle units between Degrees Hours Minutes and Decimal Degrees. Tap radar frequency to toggle units between GHz and MHz. Tap radar terrain elevation or antenna height to toggle units between meters and feet.
dot11tdwr is based on Federal Communication Commission (FCC) memorandum dated July 27, 2010 on the subject of "Elimination of interference to Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR)". Tap a button in the ‘Info’ tab to open the FCC memorandum in Safari browser window.
