Sight Words is an educational app that helps children learn many of the words required for reading. This app comes pre-loaded with the Dolch sight words that are aimed at children from Pre-Kindergarten to Third Grade. Dolch sight words provide a great foundation for kids as they begin, or continue to advance, their early reading skills. Dolch sight words are broken up in to sets according to grade level with an additional set of nouns that are non-grade specific.

This application comes with all 315 Dolch sight words and pronunciation (lots of apps try to sell you one set at a time)

This app also provides the flexibility to add more sets (up to 100 word sets) and to add or remove words from any set (up to 300 words per set). This is perfect for adding words that your child may get from school. You can also record your own voice to replace the voice that comes with the app. Once you've created your own sets of words and voice recordings, you can share them with other parents who have this app on their iphone or ipad.

Kids can press large kid-friendly buttons to hear the sounds and advance through the various sight words. If kids have trouble with a word, there is a big star button to put words in a special set for easy practicing later. These tagged words are accessible from the main menu without requiring a parent to turn the set on so that children can easily practice without any assistance. A small star tracks your progress so that you know how far you are through all the words you have selected.
