Conectar Igualdad program, created in 2010 at the initiative of the government of the Argentine Republic, at the request of its president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, is the most important educational 1 to 1 experience in the world. The Program provides for the distribution of 3.5 million netbooks to both students and teachers of state managed high schools, schools for special education and teacher training institutes, with the aim of increasing the value of the public school and reducing the digital breach between socio-economic and geographic groups all across the country. In step with this, the program seeks to promote the democratic access to knowledge and develop the necessary skills for the management of the new languages produced by Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
In this context, it was a forgone fact that the interactive version of “Inclusión digital y calidad educativa. El programa Conectar Igualdad entre 2010 y 2011,” written jointly by Pablo Fontdevila y Sabrina Díaz Rato, and published in 2012 by Editorial de la Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (EDUNTREF) would appear.
The book, which describes the experience of the start-up and the first two years of Conectar Igualdad program, includes in its digital version photo galleries, audiovisual material, testimonies of the protagonists and links of interest.
