DiarWe is meant to be a tool to help you and your friends document and share the experiences that help shape your lives. When a user is engaged in an open story, any of that user’s DiarWe friends can view that story on that user’s profile page. Any of the other authors’ friends may view the story as well. Also, while during the course of writing, any author may invite any of their DiarWe friends to join the story. In addition, DiarWe provides the ability for any author involved in an open story to post that open story to twitter or facebook. The moral of this story is pretty obvious. It’s the internet. It’s public. It’s fun to share, but be aware that things written in an open story could potentially be seen by your grandma or your boss, or any other arbiter of either secular or moral authority. Your friends may write things that you don’t want made public. In this case, you and said friend must work it out like sensible human beings and agree to edit out the inflammatory material. DiarWe assumes no responsibility for untangling any disputes in such cases. All this doom and gloom however has a solution. We realize that some juicy details are not meant to be shared with the entire world.
