The Cumbria TV Guide to Bowness & Windermere
The first in a new series of video guides that provide visitors to the region and locals with essential information on where to go, what to see, where to eat, sleep, drink & shop across the English Lake District & Cumbria.
Starting with 'honeypot' of the English Lakes - Bowness & Windermere, this new app for iPhone and iPad combine useful information, maps and the best special offers from around the Bowness & Windermere region alongside professionally shot videos and information films.
The app houses a five minute definitive video guide that is available without Internet connection as well as a series of additional films available with 3G or Wifi signal that showcasing professionally shot individual videos of attractions & things to do, the best places to stay, restaurants & cafes, bars and inns & shops from across the region.
Within the video guide app there is also a link to a longer version of the video guide to Bowness & Windermere also shot by Cumbria TV as well as a special offers page that is updated daily. There is also a favourites page where users can set out there own personal trip itinerary and user friendly map of the area with direct links.
The app also features Sat Nav directions for journeys by car, by foot, or public transport & web links, and in some cases augmented reality links, to each of the organisations and businesses specially selected for the guide by Cumbria TV's researchers.
‘The Cumbria TV Official Video Guides’ series will also definitive films & guides on further unique areas, towns & regions across Cumbria, such as Ambleside, Keswick, Kendal, Carlisle, Barrow & Furness, West Cumbria, Ulverston etc. Further video guides to regions across the UK and beyond will also be released in 2013-14 by the same team.
