The Sports Research Center showcases the extensive sports collection of Cleveland Public Library, and provides a dedicated space for sports research. More than 20,000 titles are included in the collection which consists of monographs, periodicals, annuals, clippings, scrapbooks, oral history tapes, photographs, and memorabilia. Baseball materials, including the Charles W. Mears Collection and the Eugene C. Murdock Collection, form the heart of the collection. Other highlights include Martin Stone’s Jackie Robinson file, boxing materials, local high school yearbooks, and an extensive collection of baseball fiction.
