Application Description
This Common English Version of the Declaration of Independence simply translates the original 18th Century Declaration of the United States into an easy to read version for everyone today. Now you don’t have to be a law expert to know what it means, or look up the meaning of each section. It is amazing to consider some of the original understanding to why the United States was created in the first place, and some of the founding values that define a free and just society. We have removed any reference to past dates and clauses that don’t pertain to today, including phrases that present the declaration to the King of Britain. Only information that is currently applicable as if it had been written as a foundation for the country that exist today, and as a tool for other countries creating their own democracy with criteria for why a free people would separate from an oppressing power.
