What is CID?

Differently of old fashion pictures, which carries negative films as a proof of their authenticity, digital photos are easily vulnerable to manipulation. They may lose their value in various day-to-day situations and legal circumstances.

To tackle this problem we have developed a process where each image, before saved into the device, receives a unique signature that serves as authentication token. The signature allows the image be verified later on at anytime. Image property and other information such as time, date stamps and GPS location can be verified online through CID's authentication and verification process.

CID is primarily a process for image authentication; it is not a manipulation detection process. In short, if a CID photo is modified, it will lose its unique signature and will be classified as “not certified by CID” when submitted to our verification system.
