The Chicago Red Stars were a founding member of WPS - Womens Professional Soccer in 2008. They played two seasons (2009 and 2010) in WPS. In 2011, through a reformed ownership group, they joined WPSL where they won the Midwest Conference and subsequently hosted and participated in the Championship match, only to fall in OT. In 2012, the Red Stars are members of WPSL Elite, where they are joined by other former WPS and WPSL elite teams.
Rory Dames is the returning Head Coach of the Chicago Red Stars for the 2012 season. He is assisted by his partner Mike Nesci and Assistant Coach John DeJulio.
