Chess Camp is a 7-series collection of interactive chess puzzle books officially endorsed by the United States Chess Federation (USCF). Each volume in this series contains over 600 puzzles and represents a unique theme. Starting with simple problems to illustrate key concepts and then progressing to more complex positions, the reader will learn by doing, methodically integrating new information with previous knowledge while building effective thinking habits at the board.

About the author – Igor Sukhin has written close to 50 chess educational books since 1991 and is the only chess author whose books have been recommended by the Russian Department of Education. Having reached Candidate Master’s playing strength in the early 1980’s, Igor gave up his pursuit of chess glory and devoted himself to the development of methods of chess coaching.

Volume 1 – Move, Attack, and Capture.

Volume 2 – Simple Checkmates
The ability to deliver mate is the foundation of the art of chess. This volume contains 540 precisely structured three, four, and five piece positions that cover the typical mating setups for that particular number of pieces. There is also a practice section that contains 54 five-piece positions and a section of entertaining puzzles. After solving all 618 problems the chessplayer will master the typical mating patterns and gain a solid basis for further improvement, in addition to:

Learning basic checkmate patterns in the opening, middlegame, and endgame
See when checkmate is imminent
Understand that material isn’t everything, as just a few pieces can defeat a whole opposing army
