With the BW Map Mobile the State Office for Geoinformation and Land Development Baden-Württemberg (LGL) provides digital topographic maps at scales of 1:1 million to 1:10,000.
Among others the following functions are included: search for place names and mountain peaks, positioning via satellite, "moving maps", continuous zoom and point of interest and route recording.
In the free basic version you are accessing the detailed and highly accurate Open Data Offer "Maps4BW" including tiled maps free of charge.
With the purchase at a flat rate per year you gain access to a high-quality topographic map, 3D and augmented reality. The map display is complemented by extensive tourist information. The route display of biking and hiking trails is not yet complete, but is being gradually developed and updated.

NOTE: The application loads the map tiles via the Internet and therefore an Internet connection is required. This connection can be made via WLAN or via mobile network. Downloaded tiles remain on the iPhone / iPad until the application is uninstalled.
It requires iPhone 4 or higher.
Use of activated satellite positioning system in the background can cause a drastic decrease in battery life.
