"BurnMD is a mobile application that has been created for use as a medical management aid, reference source and educational tool for patients with burn injuries.

Created by a practicing burn surgeon, the application is ideal for physicians and surgeons, medical and nursing students, residents, nurses, therapists, EMTs and paramedics as well as the general public. It allows for a simple and detailed calculation of total body surface area (TBSA) burns, provides a ""consensus"" formula (based on the Parkland formula) for quick calculation of intravenous (IV) fluids required, and has a detailed description with actual photographs and schematics for the various degrees of burn injuries.

The user also has the ability to ""take a picture"" of the burn diagram and email or text it to a physician or other medical personnel for use as a reference and description of a possible patient."
