About the book:

Jaidev has a dream. In pursuit of it, he has travelled all the way to Singapore to work as a construction worker. However, he discovers that reality is unlike what he imagined it to be. He faces difficulties and obstacles that are tough to overcome. Can Jaidev fulfil his dream?

About the author & illustrator:

A pupil of Singapore Chinese Girls’ Primary School, Anya enjoys reading and writing. Her interests are wide, ranging from music and art to the sciences. Having a natural flair for writing, Anya received a certificate of High Commendation in the 2009 Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition. Amidst her busy schedule, Anya also finds time to sing for her church and has participated in community service through a service learning trip to Cambodia.

Through her insightful story, Anya hopes to change our attitudes and perceptions towards foreign workers, treating them with more respect and making them feel welcome and valued their contributions.
