Application Description
BRF Utilities is a Tabbed utility App made up of a Pixel Offset calculator, RF Link Budget and an App catalogue of Broadcast RF’s hire products.
The pixel offset calculator is used in SDI/HD-SDI video stream timing relative to an external Gen-lock/Frame-lock reference source.
In 3 straight-forward steps you can convert timing measurements to a pixel offset value.
•Select from 23 different video formats to base calculation on
•Input the number of lines and seconds your video stream is delayed or advanced by
•Enter the current decoder pixel offset value (if any)
The calculator will then compute the total number of pixels out and the number of pixels you need to advance or delay the SDI/HD-SDI input by.
RF Link budget calculator App allows you to quickly compute the received signal strength, transmit distance, fade margin and free space loss. It is a useful tool for calculating the gains and losses in a radio link; taking into account transmit power, cable losses, receiver sensitivity etc.
It also has a precompiled list of typical gain values for transmit/receive antennas engineers regularly use, selectable from a picker tool.
