The app takes you on a journey to the historical sites of the city of Berlin, where history was written and is being lived today. The app includes many historic audiovisual film clips from the last century, some with amazing split-screen views of the past and today.

Offline Walking Tour Premium Version - about 2.5 hours 3.95 km

The City Tour-Navigator is a GPS-triggered multimedia guide that takes you from one Point Of Interest (POI) to the next. At each POI a 1 to 4 minute video file is played automatically.
The red POIs are "stop points", so please remain standing. When the video is finished, the City Tour Navigator will request you to continue the tour.
Unlike the red POIs the green POIs aren’t stop points. They are "information points" providing background information all over the whole route. If you approach the green POIs within a radius of 15 meters, an audio file containing useful information will be played automatically on your way to the next POI.
Single Points Of Interest video & audio files which are displayed on the tour map can be played manually by touching the POI icons. So that you can watch the whole tour at home, too!

The free version contains an offline tour map and one point of interest. The download of the free version of the app also contains the premium version which will be installed on your device, too. The premium version can be activated by pushing the upgrade button. With a size of 1GB the app is very extensive. The download process of this app can take up to 1 hour - depending on the bandwidth of your internet connection (Wi-Fi or LAN). Advice: the download will be much faster using your computer!

The app menu is in English. The app content is provided in the language of the country where your Apple-ID is registered in. For example: If you are registered in the German iTunes Store, the app will be in German.

These languages can be purchased within the app: Spanish, French, German, Russian, Italian and Dutch.

The author & editor of CTN is Bernardus Steenbeek, who has already been a Berlin guide when the Berlin Wall was still in place. He has led more than 100,000 visitors through Berlin, himself. He is also the author and editor of the travel guide Berlin / Potsdam which is available in 14 languages and he produced a documentary film about Berlin.
There may be an increased consumption of battery life while using the continuous GPS mode. It’s possible that this tour will use up to 60-80 % of the battery life. This advice will help you to save battery life: Turn off the GPS in the menu bar and turn it on it when required, again. If you feel you want to take another tour please take your charger with you!
