Application Description
Baseball TradeValue provides you with a year-by-year breakdown of transactions produced by Major League Baseball (MLB) teams.
The players involved in each deal are listed and the production they have accumulated for their new team is
shown in a monetary format ($) we call Major League Value (MLvalue) from MLvalue.com.
The formula we use to produce the MLvalue stat consists of a player batting, fielding and pitching stats.
Dollars are awarded for such stats as hits,HR's,put-outs,innings pitched etc... While dollars are taken away for such stats as errors, batting strikeouts, caught stealing, hitting into double plays, HR's allowed etc...
Dollar amounts are weighted since some stats are more important than other (i.e. a RBI vs. a single). The grand total is multiplied by $10,000 for inflation and the end result is the MLvalue. This stat is shown for each season the player played for the team that traded for them. All are added together for each player in the deal and the two are subtracted from each other. The team with the most MLvalue from the deal is declared the winner.
Note: deals with active MLB players are still live and each year MLvalue is updated. This can change the winner of the deal from time to time.
