Now established as an innovative and specialist underwriter across a broad range of business lines, Barbican supports and meets the needs of brokers and their clients in the UK and around the world.

The Barbican Group trades at Lloyd's as Barbican Syndicate 1955, with a stamp capacity for 2012 of £180 million. In addition to Syndicate 1955, the Group includes a non-Lloyd’s Financial Solutions business, underwritten by Barbican Reinsurance Company Limited, based in Guernsey. Barbican Reinsurance Company Ltd provides the Funds at Lloyd’s on behalf of Syndicate 1955.

Also based in Guernsey, Barbican Channel Islands is a domestic underwriting business using our capacity in Lloyd’s to provide commercial insurance solutions for the Channel Islands marketplace.

The Barbican Group also includes Professional Indemnity specialist PI Protect which was acquired by Barbican in March 2012 and underwrites a broad range of professions in the UK and Ireland via regional brokers.
