Babelmatch is a crowd-sourced alternative to expensive language-learning software. Quickly build your vocabulary in a new language by matching recorded captions to images. This approach mimics how children learn their first languages and is scientifically proven to be effective.

Babelmatch is built on a database of user-supplied images and audio captions. Upload pictures depicting vocabulary concepts and sit back while native speakers record captions in the language that you are learning. While not mandatory, we highly encourage that you give back to the Babelmatch community by recording captions in a language that you yourself already speak fluently. This collaborative approach makes everyone's language-learning experience better and is what allows us to offer this app for free.

Babelmatch is designed to work for any language. This version allows you to select from any of the top 100 languages. Because Babelmatch is new, many of these languages do not yet have captions recorded by the community. Please don't give up if your language is empty. Contribute some captions in a language you speak fluently and that will help us to recruit native speakers of the language you are learning.

If you have feedback or suggestions about how we can improve upon this app please let us know at Babelmatch.com.
