If you are planning on fishing in The Northern Territory of Australia and want the secrets local fishermen know, then here is a tool that will not only show you the locations of artificial reefs but also help you navigate your boat to those exact locations. In version 1 the app hosts reefs from 3 areas including Darwin Harbour, Fenton Patches and Lee Point. We also plan to expand the app to include as many reefs as we can find throughout the Northern Territory.

Once you have chosen your area where you want to fish, select from the available reef by tapping the red pin. This tool will then tell you how far and in what direction you need to pilot your vessel to reach that location. It even gives you your current bearing and speed taking the guesswork our of changes you need to make as you are travelling. And as you approach the target site, the top and lower bars will change from blue to red to green giving you a quick visual reference for when you are within 20 and then 5 meters of your target.

And in case you are not sure which boat ramp to use, we have included the closes boat ramp for each area.

If a reef you want to fish at is not included let us know in the forum and we can provide an update for that location.

And since Location Services and 3G data must be turned on to use this app, we limit updates depending on your distance from the reef target location, extending your battery life where possible.

Happy fishing!
