Application Description
AstroAlign helps you to identify and select the alignment stars your Meade Autostar Goto telescope needs to accurately align itself.
You select the alignment stars Autostar proposes, and AstroAlign plots them on a map of the sky. Using the map, you look for the selected star in the night sky, and you center it in the telescope in complete confidence it is the right one.
If you live in a place with a restricted view of the sky, changes are Autostar will pick an alignment star that is hidden by a building or a tree.
AstroAlign will let you define a horizon for all your observation locations. For those locations it will only show the visible alignment stars. And you can instruct Autostar to align on the stars you can actually see.
Supported Goto Telescopes:
AstroAlign works with all Meade AutoStar 497 Goto controllers and telescopes which do not align automatically. This includes the following models:
- LT Series
- LXD Series, including the LXD75 and LXD55
- ETX-90AT, ETX-105AT and ETX-125AT
- DSX Series
- DS 2090AT-TC with Autostar #497
- DS 2102AT-TC with Autostar #497
- Original DS Series with Autostar #497
