Raised in Gonzales, Texas, Ashleye is a product of her roots with southern class and charm with a touch of shyness. Singing since she was 6, Ashleye hid her talent from friends and family. “I started singing in church. I was always too shy to sing solos, so I just hid behind my mom in the choir,” Ashleye candidly recalls. “It was not until my pastor forced me to lead a song that I finally came out of my shell. At that moment I knew I needed to be heard, I wanted to be heard.” At the age of 15, Ashleye was given a new stage; after moving to Rockford, Illinois, Ashleye was accepted in to the Creative and Performing Arts Program of Auburn High School. There she began to perfect her craft and sharpen her performance skills, causing such a gain of confidence that she began to post videos to YouTube her to show her amazing talent. “I started posting YouTube videos to gain an audience,” says Ashleye.
In posting the videos, she garnered the attention of producer Demetrius "Dsmyth" crawley and emmanuel "peanut" frayer; who is known for producing the hit single “Speeding” with Omarion. After meeting with BlackSmyth and a team of people who saw the potential and talent; Ashleye has prepared to take it to the next level in her career with her debut album. The album’s first single ‘Let Love’, showcases Ashleye's sultry voice over a mid-tempo club beat and sends the message of self- empowerment and equality. “Luckily, I am working with a great team who has allowed me to be very involved in the creative decisions and process; they give me the freedom to do what I like!”
