Born in Shizuoka, Japan 1952.
He became freelance after setting the character of the animated cartoon of Tatsunoko production.
He announced the fantasy picture and the binding picture to the magazine, picture book, etc.

He won the 14th nebula prize in '83 , to the 17th prize of '86, 4 years in a row.

"The Sandman;The Dream Hunter" was nominated Hugo Award in 2000,
and won the Eisner prize that year.
