The Public Radio app locates up to seven public radio stations that feature NPR programming within a fifty mile radius of your location. Users outside of the U.S. are directed to public stations in the New York City metropolitan area. The app enables you to wake up to your favorite NPR station. When traveling, you no longer need to search for public radio stations. Other app features include a dimmer mode, vertical and horizontal support, and the ability to set multiple alarms. Suggested pairing with Areaware’s “Radio Dock”.

The app is intentionally simple, offering few choices. We have chosen local public programming because of its mix of local, national, and international news, and because it is less influenced by commercial interests. We are currently working on an app for areas outside of the U.S.
