This app functions as an interactive map of satellite photos that show the seasonal ice melt of the north and south pole. It uses the NASA Aqua satellite system to retrieve updates, and then incorporate them into charts and animations, allowing you to see trends extending back as far as 30 years.

We are shedding new light on climate change in a way that is accessible for kids and adults alike. The app is translated in over 13 international languages, and has been adopted in innovative new science programs in Canada, Russia and the US.
