Sprained your ankle? The Ankle Sprain app provides guidance, by means of pictures, text and verbal descriptions, on acute care used to optimum effect. The App also includes descriptions of 20 rehabilitation exercises of increasing difficulty and 6 taping techniques using sports tape/kinesiology tape, which aim to help you be able to rely on the sprained ankle again for exercise and sports, as well as reduce the risk of repeated sprains. There is also practical advice on when it is appropriate to return to exercise/sport.
Ankle sprain is absolutely one of the most common injuries in sport and exercising. It is also one of the injuries where it is possible to dramatically reduce the time the sportsperson/exerciser is away from his/her activity, by correctly applying acute treatment, rehabilitation and taping. All too many of those suffer an ankle sprain end up with a foot which is unstable and often suffer repetitions of the same injury because of insufficient rehabilitation. By carrying out the rehabilitation exercises included in this iPhone application and by applying the taping methods described there is every possibility of avoiding several ankle sprains and regaining the function of a foot that can be relied on.
The Ankle Sprain iPhone application describes, with illustrations and instructive text, the handling of an ankle sprain from acute care to rehabilitation exercises, taping and return to sport. The bandaging and taping instruction sections also contains text from a speaker’s voice so that instructions can be seen and heard whilst at the same time participating in practical exercises.
