The Alberta Icon Passport was created in 2010 as a way to promote icons in communities throughout the province. The project is spearheaded by Woodlands County after its council thought a passport would be a great way to get more visitors to its icon - the World's Largest Wagon Wheel and Pick. The passport is a great itinerary for a road trip and encourages travelers to experience the hidden gems of rural Alberta.

The idea of the passport is that visitors go to each community to see the unique and interesting icons and get their passport stamped at the locations noted in the passport. Then the visitors mail in their passport for a chance to win prizes. For the 2012 year, prizes are being sponsored by Woodlands County.
