Application Description
AeroFlare is an iPad and iPhone application for use by general aviation pilots in all aspects of flight, from initial planning through post flight debrief. AeroFlare combines digital VFR and IFR moving maps along with flight recording and analysis to bring you a truly revolutionary product.
A trial subscription with full functionality is included with the AeroFlare application. Continued AeroFlare service requires a subscription that is available through an in-app purchase.
Recording & Analysis
AeroFlare includes a unique glide slope tool along with recording and analysis capability to provide a complete understanding of your flights and landings. AeroFlare makes this analysis possible by recording aircraft position and attitude information through your device’s internal GPS, gyro, and accelerometers or with an external GPS attached. Key features of the recording and analysis are:
• Glide slope analysis tool
Gives you the ability to visualize your flight data on final approach and compare with runway glide slope indicators. Aircraft pitch, ground speed, and altitude are combined to give you a complete picture of your final approach to landing.
• Position overlay
Overlay your recorded position on an aviation chart.
• Touchdown
AeroFlare provides ground speed and aircraft attitude at the touchdown point of your landing.
• Split recording
The analysis will automatically split up your recordings so you only hit record once when you are practicing landings in the pattern.
• Local analysis
Analysis is performed on your device, AeroFlare does not transmit your location or recorded data.
• Auto Record
Auto start recording when app is in foreground, so you have one less thing to worry about on takeoff
• Background recording
Allows for flight recording while device is in sleep mode or application is in the background
Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
AeroFlare offers fast and amazing slippery maps presentation of aviation VFR and IFR charts. These charts combined with an overlay of GPS position data create an accurate and user friendly situational awareness package. Key features of the AeroFlare EFB are:
• US VFR sectional and TAC charts
• US IFR enroute High, low, and area charts
• US WAC charts for Mexico and Caribbean
• Fast moving maps with GPS position overlay
• Position marker rotates in direction of flight
• Charts rotate based on flight direction
• Download charts for offline use
• Internal or external GPS
• Personalized settings
• Auto-Download
Automatically download offline charts when you are connected to WiFi
• Background Downloading
AeroFlare will continue to download in the background for up to 10 minutes after you close the app
