Application Description
Addition Trainer is a training program, aiming to help learning addition in a fun and simple way.
Ideal for school-children or others, who find it difficult to get a grasp on the art of addition.
Utilizing a pen-and-paper approach in a blackboard-like environment, the application trainer forces the user to add up numbers systematically using the standard addition-method that everybody must learn.
The app has two different types of addition challenges:
The first one is called "Training", and is the pen-and-pencil style trainer, where the additions are presented on the blackboard with the addends on top of each other. You then systematically work your way from right to left entering digits and carry's as you go. When done, hit the check-button to see if you got it right!
The second challenge is "Match Up", where a you must connect clouds with additions to the corresponding result-clouds. It's as simple as dragging lines with your finger from an addition-cloud to a result-cloud. When all clouds are connected, hit the check-button to see if you got it right. All wrong connections are then marked red, so that you can easily identify where you got it wrong.
In order to provide for different skill-levels, a "Settings" view is available, allowing you to define the difficulty of the challenges.
For "Training" it's possible to specify the number of digits in each number in the addition - the "length" of the numbers.
For "Match Up" it's possible to specify number-ranges of 1-10 or 10-99 for the additions, so even if you consider yourself an addition-expert, you'll find challenge in the difficult one of those.
Addition Trainer has sound-support, which can also be controlled from the settings.
