Application Description
A multi-mode data collection App. Created by Dr. Raymond G. Romanczyk, BCBA-D and Dr. Jennifer M. Gillis, BCBA-D to assist professionals and students in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), special education, school psychology, and clinical psychology, as well as researchers conducting observational studies. ABC Data Pro is an unobtrusive data collection tool for:
• behavior and/or event counting
• partial interval recording
• full interval recording
• ABC (FBA) recording
Sessions are stored on the iPhone/iPod Touch and may be viewed in full detail. Automatic summary analysis is presented for count and interval modes. The user may also email the data. Data output is in a time-based index of each event.
ABC Data Pro offers:
• A primary interface of nine recording buttons, arranged in a standard keypad layout. Each button is independently programmable with a label name and whether it is for counting events or measuring duration of events. A given set of 9 buttons can have any combination of these, and could refer to individuals in a group, or an individual with 9 behaviors, or 2 individuals each with 3 behaviors and then general 3 ‘event’ buttons, etc.
• ABC (FBA) recording utilizes 3 screens, Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence, each with 9 buttons. Behavior is the ‘home’ screen and to access the antecedent screen one simply ‘flicks’ the screen right to move it into place, and then ‘flicks’ left to expose the consequences screen. This intuitive screen control results in a very simple, fast interface to conduct such complex observations.
• The ability to email session data in CSV (a standard Excel™ format) to multiple individuals including oneself.
The many other features of ABC Data Pro, such as on screen scrolling of recent recorded events, in-device data storage of individuals, sessions, and data, saving individual ‘configurations’ (definitions of button sets), and supervisory review make ABC Data Pro a highly sophisticated tool for clinical work as well as basic and applied research.
