Sleuthy Gumshoe, The Remarkable Detective, is a mystery book of four stories. This is part one of a two book series. The main character in each story is Sleuthy Gumshoe. Sleuthy is called upon by a child to find a lost pet. Both Sleuthy and the child embark upon a fact finding mission. There are simple reasoning techniques used by Sleuthy to engage the child’s help in solving the case. In the end, both the child and Sleuthy solve the case together, and the pet is found safe and happy. The pets in this book are a frog, a beta fish, a hermit crab and a parakeet. Each story is filled with humor and vivid word imagery. Each story has a color me page. This page was included so that the child being read to, or reading it, can actively participate in the story. The book is generally geared to four through ten year olds.


Many of the pages have an optional “Paint Me” feature for children to finger paint the pages and create their own custom version of the book.
