Application Description
“JET JET JET” legendary Japanese first airplane photo album is coming back as a digital photo album application.
All monochrome 76 pictures were photographed between 1969 and 1975, when Japanese air transportation system developed rapidly. Including photos of YS-11, Japanese first passenger plane, Boeing 747 called “Jumbo”, Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8, pioneers of jet passenger plane, Boeing 727 and Lockheed L-1011 Tri-Star both already had been stopped its production.

“JET JET JET” is my first photo album published 15th September 1975, 5 years after I had started taking photos of airplane for my life work. At that time, there were no professional photographer specialized in airplane photos in Japan. There were no text or example to be followed other than my own feeling and sense. I traveled around Japan with my telephoto lenses being absorbed in taking those photos of airplanes. Even now, that hot feeling comes back to me every time I open this photo album.

He was born in Saitama-Prefecture in 1944. He graduated from the Department of Tokyo Polytechnic University. After working for a newspaper, he started his carrier as a free photographer. In 1970, he joined Japan Air Lines as a nonregular employee, taking photos of airplane. He developed and established a field of airplane photo, and has made effort for the progress of the field as a part of aircraft culture.
