Japanese girl Cio-Cio San and the U.S. Naval officer Pinkerton fell in love and then got married. However, soon after the wedding Pinkerton was transferred to other places. Cio-Cio San raised the child, silly waiting her husband's return. Surprisingly, Pinkerton had another wife in the United States. When hearing the news, Cio-Cio San sadly took her life.

As the western painter, she spends a lot of time on researching the historical background of textual features and clothing characteristics, to draw carefully an oriental story. Currently as full-time illustrator, Fucíková draws for the children's books, magazines and textbooks with exquisite brushwork, and she has won the Czech Republic’s major awards.
