Excel HSC English Quick Study: The Crucible—get the results you want! 

Excel HSC English Quick Study: The Crucible is the perfect tool for studying and revising on the go! This app is designed specifically for the HSC English Area of Study—Belonging, which forms the common content for both the HSC Standard and Advanced English courses.


There are two parts to the app:


1. HSC study cards

• All relevant Area of Study—Belonging syllabus areas (Characters; Relationships; Places; Events; Ideas; Societies; Language) are covered for the prescribed text (The Crucible) and a bonus TWO related texts (Good Night and Good Luck; Nineteen Eighty-Four).
• Also included:
  - an introductory section exploring concepts of belonging
  - key concepts and definitions
  - a list of other recommended related texts
  - a sample extended response for The Crucible with tips
  - seven further extended-response questions with sample opening paragraphs.

• Special interactive functions to give you the best revision:

  - a bookmark function—you can bookmark each card with a green, yellow or red bookmark depending on how well you know each card; you can also sort and view the bookmarked cards by all colours or specific colours

  - a copy and paste function—you can copy and paste text from the cards and then add your own ideas to make personalised revision notes.
  - a search function—you can use this handy tool within the Table of Contents to find specific topics
  - a pop-up tips function—you can scroll down to read the sample extended response and touch the icons to access the helpful hints and tips.



2. Quick Quiz

• There are 171 questions in total.
• You can take a randomly generated quick quiz of 10 questions from the topic of your choice, or from all topics combined.

• Each question in the quiz is marked instantly for you, with the correct answer highlighted so you can learn from your mistakes; explanations are provided for both correct and incorrect quiz answer options.

• You are given a score out of ten and your percentage mark at the end of each quiz.
• You are also given a comprehensive summary of all your results for each topic including your percentage improvement, which helps you keep track of your progress.
• You can take the quizzes as many times as you like until you get the consistently high percentage score you want.
