Christ Community began with a vision: to create a community of Christians in Greater Waterbury dedicated to living for Christ 24/7. Casey Sabella, an ordained minister since 1981, together with his wife Pat did not originally intend to plant a new church.
The idea first surfaced when they invited Bruce and June Valentien over for dinner. Bruce challenged Casey to begin to consider the idea and after Crosbymuch prayer both families determined that God was authorizing them to begin weekly services, first held at Crosby High School in the Spring of 2001.
Our vision was and is to reach the unchurched of Greater Waterbury with the Good News about Jesus Christ and train Christians to be effective in life and ministry.
