Bodie is mining history, industrial history and human pathos. A facinating remote place it is perhaps the best preserved ghost town in America. It was about gold. Although the town never hit it big like Virginia, City, Nevada, Bodie was an important mining town. President Herbert Hoover's brother, Theodore, ran the Standard Mine for a time. Young and old alike will like and learn from this tour.
