We Face Forward is a multi arts festival taking place across Manchester over the Olympic summer celebrating the global and the local, exploring the links between Manchester and West Africa as part of the London 2012 cultural festival.
The We Face Forward iPad App takes you on a journey through the music and culture of West Africa featuring live performances at Manchester's famous Band on the Wall venue from some of the most prominent artists this diverse and colourful region has to offer.
The app contains beautiful videos, interviews, photo galleries, and fascinating articles about the musical history of West Africa. Get an insight into the instruments, musical genres and cultural traditions that make up the dynamic fabric of this part of the world.
Musicians include world renowned acts such as Afro-Cubism, Femi Kuti, Angelique Kidjo, Diabel Cissohko and Kanda Bongo Man and reflects the incredible diversity and brilliance of musical styles from West Africa.
