Slacksmith is relatively robust VLC remote control. It allows you to browse a video library, trigger your computer to open videos using VLC, and send control commands to the computer to change VLC's volume, pause, play, stop, and enter or exit fullscreen.

Slacksmith attempts to parse TV show names, seasons, and episode number out of the filenames of your videos to make locating the media you want quick and easy. Unparseable filenames are assumed to be movies, and dumped in one group.

Slacksmith was originally designed as a web-app for my own use, and as such, may not be for everyone. If you're a bit of a geek, it shouldn't be a problem to set up.

Requirements:
- VLC running on at least one computer, with the Web Interface enabled
- A web server running on the computer that holds the video files, with the directory holding the files accessible
- The directory holding the files should be either flat (bare files) or one-deep (a similarly named folder for each file), because it was really designed to share the iTunes Media/Movies directory, which does this automatically for files added to iTunes.
- The webserver being run must also display an auto-index for the media folder when accessed from a browser. If you open it in a browser and see a link for each file, you should be good to go.

If you have issues, or you run into filenames that should be parseable, but aren't, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

Requirements

Your mobile device must have at least 212.81 KB of space to download and install Slacksmith app. Slacksmith is available on iTunes for $0.99
