Application Description
You’ve found the Southeastern JourneyCheck App (SE JCheck for short)!
Nexus Alpha in partnership with Southeastern Railways is proud to release the first version of the JourneyCheck App for the iPhone.
Fronted by the innovative new Southeastern Rainbow Board User Interface, you will be given an immediate impression of the status of the Southeastern rail network, with each of the main twelve Southeastern routes being given a status of either Good Service, Minor Disruption or Major Disruption. In extreme cases where a line may be closed, the status No Service will appear.
This status level is generated automatically using both route disruption and train service disruption entered by Southeastern Railways Network Control Room.
The App takes account of the whole rail network, so if there is disruption at a London Terminus station, it calculates that multiple routes will be affected.
The information available is consistent with the information on the Southeastern website and on JourneyCheck and JourneyCheck Alerts – but it’s now available by iPhone!
Regardless of the route status, it is possible to drill down to details of any known disruption currently affecting a route.
Information available includes:
- Any train service disruption, including cancellations, significant delays and alterations (changes to the list of stations that the train was scheduled to stop at).
- Line problems which are causing disruption on one or more routes. Depending on the severity of the problem, this may cause just delays or potentially cancellation and alterations as well. The likely maximum delay is also included.
- Also available are details of any Engineering Works that are scheduled to affect trains on each route for the day. So if you are traveling home later, you can check that services are planned to be running as usual.
