RunBuddy is THE workout companion if you walk, run, jog, bike, roller blade, skate, ski, row or otherwise move when working out. Designed to keep track of your current progress, RunBuddy uses your iPhone's GPS to calculate your distance and speed, both in Miles per Hour and your average mile time (ie. 8 minute mile.)

What makes RunBuddy most handy is that that it will announce your progess through your headphones. At every specified interval, RunBuddy can give you your distance, total exercise time, average speed and average mile times without your needing to look at it. A great tool to help pace yourself and meet your goals! Fully customizable, you can choose when the updates will occur and what you'd like RunBuddy to tell you at each update. Or you can easily silence RunBuddy by touching the speaker icon.

RunBuddy is compatible with the iPod player - you can play your music in the background just as you normally would. At the appropriate times, RunBuddy will pause your music, give you an audible update, then play your music right where it last left off - you never need to interrupt your workout to find out how you're doing. You can keep your iPhone/iPod Touch safe in its case and still know your progress.

RunBuddy only uses the GPS to track the distance covered during the session, no location information is saved or transmitted so your privacy is secure.


***** IMPORTANT!!!! *****
You must wait for the GPS to get a good signal before starting your workout. Wait until the Locator Accuracy shows a low number (less than 100ft - less than 20ft is ideal) or your numbers will be way off when starting your workout. It takes about 15-30 seconds to get a good signal when outdoors. If you don't wait until you get a good signal, the GPS readings will be way off and it will look like you ran/walked as fast as car in the beginning. So please wait until the GPS accuracy is best to get best results. I use this everyday when running and the results are very accurate and consistent.

Note that you must be moving for RunBuddy to work. It will not work on treadmills, stationary bikes or other equipment where you move in place.

Some Tips:
--------------------

- Due to the time it takes for GPS to acquire a good signal, you will need to wait a minute after starting RunBuddy before starting your workout. For best accuracy, look at the Locator Accuracy number and wait for it to get as low as possible (< 100ft), touch the Reset button, then touch the Start button. The lower the number the better the accuracy. Accuracy depends on how well the GPS in the iPhone is receiving a satellite signal, so it may not work indoors.

- Setup a playlist in the iPod player application and start that before starting RunBuddy. If you're using the original iPhone headphones, or ones similar, you can pause the song by single-clicking the button on the mic, advance to the next song by double-clicking the button on the mic and you can go back to the previous song by triple-clicking the button.
