Oz Geodesy turns your iPhone into a true Australia customized handheld GPS!!!
Imagine that you are in the middle of nowhere and mobile network is not available. Then you are completely lost.
Don't worry, here is the solution!! Bring your trustworthy local maps and let your iPhone GPS work. The iPhone GPS returns coordinates based on WGS84 which is identical to new Geocentric Datum of Australia 94 system. However, old maps based on Australian Geodetic Datum 66 & 84 are still widely used, and these WGS84 coordinates can not be used on old maps unless they are converted into a proper format. The difference between WGS84 and AGD66/84 varies across the country.
Oz Geodesy converts GPS coordinates on the fly. This is very handy for trampers, travelers, emergency people..etc.
