KML Draw for iPhone and iPad provides a simple way to create and share geographic data. You can draw points, lines, and polygons, on top of a map, label them each with a name and description, and share the results as a kml file. If you need more capability than just dropping pins, but you don't want to deal with the expense and complexity of professional GIS data collection tools, KML Draw might be a good fit.
