He Jiaying was born in Tianjin in 1957. Since his youth, he has loved painting pictures. In 1977, he was admitted to Painting Department of Tianjing Academy of Art to study painting. In 1980, he started teaching after his graduation. He was the member of the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh National Committee of the CPPCC. At present, he was vice-chairman of Chinese Artists Association, doctoral tutor of Chinese Academy of Arts, vice president of the Contemporary Painting Association, professors (level-2) and master supervisor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, director of He Jiaying Traditional Chinese Realistic Painting Institute, and dean of Tianji Art Academy. He won the title of national “young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution” and was selected as a “worker of excellence in both performing skills and moral integrity” by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) and one of “four groups” of literature and art talents by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. He is good at painting the modern fine brushwork figures. His representative works include “Mountain”, “19th Autumn”, “Women in Mizhi”, “Sour Grapes”, “Soul in Mawei”, “Obscure in Autumn”, “Morning*Dew*Mulberry”, “Rest of Dance”, and “Yang Kaihui”.

In 1980, “Flowers Fly Everywhere in Spring City” won the second-grade award of the Second Session of the National Youth Art Exhibition;

In 1988, “Sour Grapes” won the grand award of the First Session of Contemporary Painting Exhibition;

In 1991, “Obscure in Autumn” won the first-level award of the Second Contemporary Traditional Chinese Realistic Painting Exhibition;
In 1996, “Morning*Dew*Mulberry” won the silver award of the First Chinese Figure Painting;
In 1999, “Women in Mizhi” won the bronze award of the Ninth National Art Exhibition;
In 2003, eight works won the most welcome award in Today Chinese Art Exhibition;
In 2003, three works won the gold award of Seoul-Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition;
In 2007, “Rest of Dance” won the contribution award of “2007 Jinling Painting Exhibition of 100 Chinese Painters”;
In 2012, “Spring Expectation” won the special contribution award of the “Creative City – 2012 London Art Exhibition;
In 2012, “Morning*Dew*Mulberry” won the gold award of “2012 Carrousel du Louvre International Art Exhibition”
