"fo-Onmon" is a spectrogram audio analyzer application for the iPad.

"fo-Onmon" uses the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to analyze incoming audio signals and provides a precision frequency response measurement.
It is a visual representation of the spectrogram of frequencies in a sound as they vary with time in the frequency range of 22kHz from 20Hz.

The spectrogram is a graphical image with two geometric dimensions that the horizontal axis represents time and the vertical axis is frequency, and the third dimension is indicating the amplitude of a particular frequency at a particular time that is represented by colour of each point in the image.

"fo-Onmon" is available in a variety of applications, such as studying music structure, visualization of voices and speech, analysing animal sounds and environmental sounds.

While adopting a signal processing algorithms with high accuracy, "fo-Onmon" is designed to easy-to-use interface like classical measurement instrument.

Practical example:
"fo-Onmon" does a real-time spectral analysis of the sounds around you. It can be used for discovering visual hidden images in the various sounds, such as music, birdsongs and environmental sounds. You can also use it to capture the annoying high frequency noise of your audio system.

NOTE:
The microphone via the headset or built-in microphone of the iOS device, pass through a high-pass filter to attenuate significantly the low-frequency signal components.
We recommend that you use a measurement microphone that connects via the Dock connector or USB audio interface.
