The Eurojargon Glossary of EU terminology offers definitions, explanations, background information and links to relevant materials and websites for a wide range of terms used by and about the European Union - its history, development, institutions, policies, legislation and activities.

The scope of the glossary is therefore very broad and the app should be seen as a work in progress rather than a comprehensive source.

Terms are added to the database frequently, and purchasers can expect to receive weekly updates for life (the life of the app, not the purchaser!).

Most terms are encountered when scanning new or existing documentation, which we at Eurojargon do on an almost daily basis, but some are added in response to suggestions. Although Eurojargon is not a personal enquiry service, suggestions for terms to include are always welcome, so feel free to get in touch with us.

One of the main assumptions underpinning the glossary is that users will often be ignorant of what a term means. This is especially true when looking for an acronym or abbreviation - what do those letters stand for? In some cases, however, a term might be known in full and all that’s needed is an explanation and/or links to further sources. To allow for both situations, Eurojargon includes entries for terms in their full and abbreviated forms.
Please note that, despite its wide coverage, the glossary generally excludes EU-funded projects.
