The content of the app is a collection of study notes on various topics across the AF1 syllabus for the tax year 2012/2013. It is absolutely not a replacement for the CII study text. With any CII exam, wide reading across the syllabus is always recommended.

This app is also a great reference tool on tax and trusts to have at your disposal, even if you're not sitting the AF1 exam.

The app is split into three main sections: Tax, Trusts and Topics Covered in Previous Papers. Within the Tax and Trusts sections, there are (where relevant) other sub sections all of which contain mostly bullet pointed information on the subject/topic in question. The aim of this is to help structure your thoughts on the topic. It’s important to remember that anything listed here may not gain you full (or any) marks if simply regurgitated in your exam. One of the key things to demonstrate when answering AF exam questions is application of knowledge relevant to the case study. That is what sets the AFs apart from the J & R papers.

It is also worth noting that this app only deals with the theory for answering the written type questions. Calculations are not covered.
